Event Description

This generative workshop offers exercises to develop your in-progress nonfiction – memoir, journalism, or essay – with award-winning author Sonia Faleiro. The workshop will be introduced with a conversation about writing mentorship between Rima Rantisi, editor at Rusted Radishes, and the author.

 

Bio

Sonia Faleiro is the author of The Robe and the Sword: How Buddhist Extremism is Shaping Modern Asia (2025) and The Good Girls: An Ordinary Killing, a New York Times Editor's Choice and finalist for the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize. Her earlier work, Beautiful Thing: Inside the Secret World of Bombay's Dance Bars, was a finalist for the Lettre Ulysses Award for the Art of Reportage. She is the founder of South Asia Speaks, a free mentorship program for emerging writers from the region, and co-editor of Gaza: The Story of a Genocide (2025). Born in India, she lives in London.
